والموضوع :Planning to use your money wisely
It's all fine and dandy to know you're being frugal by squeezing out the last quarter inch of toothpaste, or washing cloth napkins, or changing the oil in your car yourself and saving a bundle of money doing it. Unless you have a 'pencil and paper' idea of where you are financially though (and where you need or want to be), you'll find yourself floundering in the sea of uncommitted ness way too often. (No, I don't think that's a real word)
Budgeting is a 'necessary evil' to some, while some seem to be able to ignore it altogether, but to the truly frugal and wise, budgeting is a welcome way of planning and freeing your money to cover normal expenses as well as those unforeseen costs that keep cropping up.
We may be a couple of weeks into the New Year, but its not too late to start making a simple budget for the year.
Plan for some fun, too, and a little pocket money for everyone
If your money won't stretch to cover all you need to budget for, go over it again and see where you can cut a little. Just five dollars here and there can make the difference in a budget that works and one that doesn't.
Actually putting a budget into practice is the hard part. If you write it all in stone, you'll soon be resentful of having to follow your own rules, but if you're too lenient, you won't realize the benefits of having a budget.
Keep in mind that the budget is a helper, not an authority or something to try to outwit.
It's your friend, not your enemy! The sooner you 'buddy up' to it, the sooner you'll benefit from having more control over your own money.
